Reading Rescuers is a community of educator-leaders who work together, supporting one another, to promote reading among children.
Our vision is for students and teachers to develop in a well-rounded way, care for one another, take responsibility for the world around them, and communicate with understanding and mutual respect. Reading books helps build such communities.

How to join?
We invite you to participate
Teachers and librarians who apply to be coordinators of activities in their schools are invited to participate in the programme.
The task of the project coordinators will be to inspire their community to promote reading, inform them about the types of support provided by the programme (e.g. online training) and follow up the activities undertaken by their institution in specific areas.

To obtain the Reading Lifeguards Certificate, activities in areas 1-4 must be carried out, area 5 is not compulsory. It is up to the school to choose the activities it will engage in, according to the needs and capabilities of its community. You can use our idea bank or share activities of your own devising.
